19-02-22,23,24 Friday, Saturday, early Sunday ---Boot Key Harbor
A mooring ball became available, so in the morning, we left Mathathon Key Marina, and traveled "around the corner", under the bridge, to Boot Key Harbor.
Pros:
Mooring Balls are much more secure than dropping an anchor yourself.
You get the same feeling of privacy on a ball, as you would dropping anchor.
You are surrounded by water, verses only 12-15 feet away from another boat (as in a marina)
They are MUCH cheaper than staying at a marina ($25/night vs. $3.00/foot/night)
Cons:
No electricity or water (though we have a generator and 250 gallons of fresh water on Zingara)
No swimming pool
No camaraderie ----hummmm, that's not always a Con.
Having to ride your dinghy into shore ---- not always a Con either!
Anyway, we stayed on this mooring ball in the fabulous and protected Boot Key Harbor, and enjoyed the quiet and relaxation!
