Nov. 17th-December 30th, 2018

Dear Family and Friends,

I’ve come to realize that I’m just not very good at this “Blog Thing”.  But I will continue to do the best I can.

Back in November, we got Zingara as far south as Charleston, SC.
Charleston is so lovely, and Mary & Bill (on Always 5 O’Clock, which they dock at nearby Folly Beach) recommended and helped us barter a great slip right off the Ashley River.

Once Zingara was secured,
we drove a one-way rental car back to Michigan, via an overnight with Rick’s sister, Marilyn, in Asheville, NC.
We enjoyed a wonderfully-hectic Thanksgiving in our new condo, with 21 attendees, and lots of love and laughter.

Once Thanksgiving was cleared away, our life continued on, with preparations of the Holiday Season.

So, on December 26th, we filled up our son, Alex’s car, and the next day, the 3 of us drove down to Asheville, once again, to Marilyn’s lovely Asheville home. Marilyn fixed us a fabulous dinner! and after a good night’s rest, Rick and I headed south to Charleston, while Alex returned back north to Michigan.  Thank you, Marilyn, for the comfortable and welcoming B&B!

We found Zingara to be in ship-shape condition, except for a mysterious leak in the engine room.  As the slip was paid up through January 4th, and the weather was foggy and rainy, yet mild, we stayed tied up at the dock, while Rick investigated the leak.  We also washed and cleaned and re-organized.
It’s amazing to see what I forgot to bring/ what I won’t need yet brought anyway/ and what I need to buy new!  Luckily, we extended the rental car, and were free to “run out” and get other provisions.
