September 23 Kingston to Alexandria Bay
So, here is where Kingston is ….
and we traveled to Alexandria Bay, via the 1000 Islands.
The scenery was spectacular! Water, rocks and blue, blue sky!
And as we got closer to Alexandria Bay, fabulous houses emerged from the rocks and islands. Here are just a few -- it was hard to choose which ones to show-- each on more unique than the other.
We followed a sailboat into the bay, with the afternoon sun shimmering on the waves behind us.
We were fortunate that Rick’s cousin, Judy, and her husband, Ed, drove over to meet us (and Zingara), and we shared wonderful conversations, reminiscing, and a meal.
We found (after a lot of walking) “the Kitchen” Restaurant. There I had the best salad I think I’ve ever eaten --> roasted beets, sliced brussel sprouts, goat cheese, pine nuts, etc, on arugula all mixed on a natural-wood plank. And it was enough to share! Rick enjoyed an Un-assembled Eggplant Parmesan special, so good, he wished there had been twice as much!
Ed and Judy Fuhr left early to get back home, while Rick and I resisted the wild nightlife of the waterside restaurants, and snuggled in on Zingara.
