September 21, Thursday Locks 12-6

So, this is approximately where we are today.

We left Campbellford on ANOTHER FABULOUSLY clear, sunny, morning.  The canal was so calm, we really made good time!

We got through Locks #12 – 7.

Just a note: in today’s locks, as we were floating down, the zebra muscles, which have clung to the lock-walls, were spitting at us!  Icky!  Also, today we saw a lovely snake
that swam up close to the boat, AND lots and lots of turtles!
And although it was still early (3:30), the locks were closed, so we tied up at Frankfort for the night.
There was a bike trail and a damn within walking distance of our tie-up. So we took advantaged of the park-like setting - Rick took a bike ride, and I worked on my blog out on the picnic table.
Andre & Brigitte invited us to appetizers (and 3 bottles of wine) at THEIR picnic table, and then we went back to our own boats for home-cooked meals.   Another beautiful day on the Trent-Severn Waterway!
Another NOTE: Rick has not shaved since we left Jefferson Beach Marina.  It’s filling in pretty well, isn’t it?
